1970’s White Handwoven Rattan Macaw Parrot Floor Lamp by Mario Lopez Torres
A spectacular 1970’s handwoven rattan Macaw parrot floor lamp with hexagonal shade and brass accents, by Mario Lopez Torres. Handmade in Mexico, original makers medallion still affixed and heavily patina’d. This is a show-stopping piece, rare and highly coveted, standing tall and impressive with a hand crafted 30” long macaw parrot perched on one side. The wicker is painted in a clean off white, while the parrots brass features have patina’d to a beautiful green. Wired for standard US outlet. Circa 1974.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Some minor losses to wicker at bottom as shown. Fully restored with shellac and white lacquer to return it to its former glory and ensure the wicker remains strong. Macaw has patina to brass face, giving it a green coloration as shown.
