1980's DIA/Morex Brass and Glass Sliding Etagere

A beautiful DIA style brass and glass etagere. This one is believed to be an Italian Morex replica, circa 1980’s. Italian brand Morex developed an almost exact replica of the iconic etagere designed by The Design Institute of America in the late 1970's. Although DIA attempted to sue Morex over the obvious design theft, their patent did not have global reach and Morex were free to continue with production.

The top part can slide partially to the side, revealing the nesting portion below. 5 glass shelves in upper portion. 4 glass shelves and 3 record/book compartments in lower portion. A fantastic piece, highly coveted. 

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Moderate patina to brass as shown in pics.

Dimensions: When pushed together 47”W x 72"H x 18 3/8”. Lower portion measures 45 3/8"W x 26"H x 18"D. Upper portion cannot stand without the support of the lower section.
