A hand crafted briefcase, made of rosewood and cocobolo, with flip lever lock mechanism. Designed by Don S. Shoemaker and produced by Señal in Morelia Mexico. The case is constructed of carved wood, arranged in a checkered patchwork pattern, giving a beautiful texture and depth to the piece. Dated from the late 1950's early 1960's. Acquired at the estate of an art collector in Stamford, CT. Original makers sticker on base.

Shoemaker was an America designer based in Mexico from the 1940's until his death in the 1990's. He was known for his stunning wood craftsmanship and referred to as the Nakashima of Mexico.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Some superficial scratches and light wear. 

Dimensions: 3.75”D x 16 5/8”W x 13.5”H (including handle).
